Privacy policy

Who we are

MOONVOW is made by Netherfire Entertainment (“Netherfire”, “we”). Because the app does not collect personal data, Netherfire does not receive or hold information about you through MOONVOW.

Data we collect

Netherfire collects nothing. The app makes no calls to Netherfire servers and has no account, cloud save, analytics, crash reporting, or usage tracking. The one exception is optional video ads, served by Google and described below.

Optional video ads

When your chat with him is over for the day, you can choose to watch a short video ad for a few more replies tonight. Nothing ad-related runs until you tap that button.

When you do, Google AdMob receives the information it needs to show the ad, measure it, and prevent fraud: your device’s advertising identifier, IP address, device and app information, and your interaction with the ad. We request non-personalized ads only, and MOONVOW never shows an App Tracking Transparency prompt. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy.

In the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland, Google’s consent form asks for your choice before any ad is requested. You can reset or delete your advertising identifier in your device settings at any time. Netherfire receives only aggregate ad reports from Google, never anything that identifies you.

What stays on your device

To play, MOONVOW stores the following only in its app storage on your device. None of it is sent to Netherfire.

• Your save: story progress, choices, affection, achievement progress, and settings.
• The name and pronouns you choose, your birth date, optional birth time, and the birth year entered at the age gate.
• His memory library: what he remembers from your chapter choices and the replies you pick in chat.
• There is no cloud save, so progress does not move to another device. Uninstalling the app removes all of this data.

Who writes what he says

Every line the characters say — chat replies, night notes, late-night calls, and Moon Watch lines — is written by people. Chat is choice-based: you pick one of three replies, and nothing is sent anywhere to create a response.

AI chat may arrive in a future update. If it does, we will update this policy and the app store privacy disclosures before it is enabled.

What we do not do

• No analytics, crash reports, or usage tracking.
• No personalized advertising, cross-app tracking, or App Tracking Transparency prompt — and no ads unless you choose to watch one.
• No in-app purchases or payments.
• No location, contacts, photos, microphone, camera, or health data.
• No public player content, and we never sell or share personal data.

Platform achievements and sharing

MOONVOW supports achievements through Game Center on Apple devices and Google Play Games on Android. Signing in is optional and only starts when you open the achievements screen. If you sign in, Apple or Google processes your player profile and achievement progress under its own privacy policy; MOONVOW does not send this information to Netherfire.

If you use Share on the chart page, your device’s share sheet opens with a line of text about your moon sign. Nothing is shared unless you choose where to send it.

Your choices

• Export: “Export my data” in Settings → Privacy (also on the chart page) saves a copy of your profile, birth details, what he remembers, and your relationship and story state as a file in the app’s storage.
• Erase what he remembers: on the chart page, choose “Erase what he remembers”, then “Let the eclipse happen”, to permanently clear his memory library. Your story progress stays.
• Erase everything: uninstalling MOONVOW removes all of its data from your device. Because Netherfire keeps no copy, nothing remains on our side.
• Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as GDPR, UK GDPR, and CCPA/CPRA. Because we hold no personal data from the app, you exercise these rights on your device as described above. You can also contact us or complain to your local data-protection regulator.

Delete your data

Uninstalling the app deletes all MOONVOW data, and the in-game eclipse erases what he remembers. There is no server-side data to delete for version 0.0.1.

Age requirement

MOONVOW is only for people aged 21 or older. An in-game age gate asks for your birth year before you play, and that answer stays on your device.

Children

MOONVOW is not directed to children or anyone under 21, Netherfire does not collect personal information from anyone, and ad requests are marked as not directed to children. If you believe a minor is using MOONVOW, please contact us.

Security

Your MOONVOW data stays in the app’s protected storage on your device and is not transmitted. Keep your device protected with a passcode and up to date.

Changes to this policy

If our practices change, we will update this page and its effective date. If a future version adds any feature that sends data off your device, we will update this policy and the app store disclosures before that feature is enabled.
